Charles Curry has 27 years of senior government experience. He served as the Budget Officer for the City of Austin, Texas for twelve years. In that capacity he was the principal champion of the City’s well-known Managing for Results efforts, which received an A- from Governing Magazine’s Government Performance Project. As the Budget Officer, he provided the organizational leadership that made it possible for the City to begin designing its Managing for Results system in December of 1999 and to then present a fully integrated Performance Budget to the City Council in early summer, 2000, with every city department presenting a strategic business plan organized around both strategic and business results, and budgeted accordingly by activities. Mr. Curry created several strategic corporate level processes that helped City managers internalize Managing for Results, such as the Corporate Review and the executive performance appraisal process.
